We are working to make sure that all European students have the right to learn two languages in addition to their mother tongue. We will be making use of our networks to make this objective a priority of education systems, which are often not prepared to offer the kind of language education required by the public and the market.
We are advocating the use of valid tools so as to get reliable comparable results with regard to language education and language learning outcomes across the national educational system and will be working to facilitate the dissemination of such information.
We intend to collaborate with other European institutions, including the ECML – European Centre for Modern Languages of the Council of Europe, towards the use of language education methods and practices which aim at the development of plurilingual and intercultural communicative competences.
